Michelle Sontag is a retired educator, where she finished her career as a principal at Saline Area Schools in Saline, Michigan. Most recently, she took leave as an adjunct professor at Monroe County Community College to be a full-time caregiver for her husband, Dave. He has been battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia since March, 2018. When time permits, she works as an educational consultant and trainer for s3strategies. Her husband, Dave Sontag, is a veteran educator and coach. He taught English and journalism for 21 years at Jefferson High School in Monroe and then worked as a guidance counselor for 12 years at Jefferson. He also coached baseball at Jefferson for 27 years and then coached Saline’s baseball team for the past four seasons. Jefferson High School Varsity won a state baseball championship in 2002. Saline High School Varsity won a state baseball championship in 2017. Dave and Michelle have three children and three grandchildren.

I had Dave Sontag as a teacher my senior year at Jefferson High School! I hope that he continues to progress with intent to “keep going” , especially after chemo!

If there is one person that can do this it’s Dave. I have played baseball with Dave and against Dave, and let me tell you I’d much rather play with him. He is relentless and determined and this will get him through this. Fight the fight brother, I know you will you don’t quit anything.
